The Turin Giants Appoint Former Italy Head Coach Luciano Spalletti

Juventus have named ex- Italian national team head coach Luciano Spalletti to lead the team for the remainder of the campaign.

Spalletti steps in for his predecessor, who was let go after the Serie A side's defeat by Lazio on Sunday.

The former boss came on board in March to replace Thiago Motta but left after seven months at the end of an eight-match winless run.

Under Spalletti, Napoli clinched the Serie A championship in 2022-23 before taking charge of Italy, who had failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup with Mancini at the helm.

He secured their spot in Euro 2024 where they were knocked out in the last 16 by Switzerland.

However, Spalletti was sacked by Italy in June following a loss to Norway in World Cup qualifying, as Italy faced the possibility of not making a third World Cup in a row.

Spalletti has also managed Inter Milan, Roma and Udinese in Serie A and won the Russian Premier League twice with Zenit St Petersburg.

Massimo Brambilla took interim charge of Juventus in the midweek 3-1 triumph over Udinese placing them seventh in the Serie A standings - six points behind leaders Napoli after nine games.

Their Champions League campaign sees them in 25th place in the group stage, with one loss and two draws in their first three games.
